First reviewed here: http://overweight-bookshelf.blogspot.... A Dream Unfolding is a historically rich and emotionally poignant story about loss, healing, and second chances that will resonate with readers. There are two separate plots lines recounted simultaneously, yet the flow of the story never feels fragmented or disjointed because they are thematically linked. The narration navigates seamlessly between the two plots building suspense until the two stories ultimately culminate into oneI really enjoyed this book. It was a break from the books I have been reading lately. I have always had a soft spot for either books with cowboys or books that have people in covered wagons traveling to a land unknown to them other than the recomendation they might read in a newspaper by someone who was supposed to have made the trip there and knew the land. It is always a situation where the people who decide to pick up and move, in this case Hannah has to go with her husband, as that is what
A Series of Four BooksI love to read history, this is a Christian Historical Romance it starts in Ohio, in 1863. The story is about a young woman Hannah Anderson, that married a doctor, Dr Drew Anderson, due to substances they had to move to Arizona Territory. Karen Barney is an outstanding inspirational author, she has put much research into this novelThe families in this novel faced hardships, grief, happiness, and difficult times during their journey west. The characters came alive with
Karen Baney has crafted an inspirational and heart-warming Christian Historical Romance in her debut novel, A Dream Unfolding (Prescott Pioneers #1). She covers wagon train rides, cattle drives, and military expeditions oh my! Her research of these true events is evident by both the author's descriptive details of setting throughout the book in the different places of Ohio, Texas, and Arizona, and by Baney accurately illustrating many of the challenges pioneers encountered during the 1860s.

I did enjoy this book and I know it was predictable but I enjoyed reading how that predictability would be played out. I would have given this book four stars if it were not for a few unbelievable events. One is the account of a group of cowboys frolicking with buckets of water in the Arizona Territory in the midst of winter. The fact that they had no shelter, have been out on the trail for months and being at a base of a mountain next to a lake, they decide to have a water fight. No mention
