Really interesting and written by an Alaskan. Gives an interesting look into the big oil stronghold on Alaska and an especially detailed account of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.A good history, worth the read, just not spectular. Pretty wild history though. I was hoping for something a little more incisive, with more of a radical analysis, but oh well. Relatively 'neutral', though it still comes across as fairly scathing of Alaskan politics and the oil industry, but there's not way around that.A good history, worth the read, just not spectular. A highly-readable overview of some of the consequences of Alaska's oil boom, focusing on the some of the most scandalous episodes.
