Hercule Poirot is vacationing on the Cornish coast when he meets Nick Buckly. Nick is the young and reckless mistress of End House, an imposing structure perched on the rocky cliffs of St. Loo.

Poirot has taken a particular interest in the young woman who has recently narrowly escaped a series of life-threatening accidents. Something tells the Belgian sleuth that these so-called accidents are more than just mere coincidences or a spate of bad luck. It seems all too clear to him that someone is trying to do away with poor Nick, but who? And, what is the motive? In his quest for answers, Poirot must delve into the dark history of End House. The deeper he gets into his investigation, the more certain he is that the killer will soon strike again. And, this time, Nick may not escape with her life.

Criticism Out Of Books Peril at End House (Hercule Poirot #8)
We must act quickly Hastings. The peril is very close at hand.So say the closing words to the first chapter of Peril at End House, and already a frisson of excitement runs through us. We have a threat of danger, and know that we are in for a classic read, featuring one of our favourite detective duos: Hercule Poirot and Captain Arthur Hastings. The exciting thrills begin, when we learn that the young pretty Nick Buckley has been the victim of three near accidents. The first happened on a

Bless my library and its sporadically reliable audiobook collection. I might be in the third month of waiting for my turn to download The Glass Castle, but at least I can always count on there being at least one Agatha Christie mystery to tide me over while I wait. I chose Peril at End House because its premise sounded the most promising: while on vacation on the coast of England, Hercule Poirot meets Magdala Nick Buckly, an heiress whos had a handful of miraculous and suspicious brushes with

Evil never goes unpunished, Monsieur. But the punishment is sometimes secret. Agatha Christie, Peril at End House#8 of 39 completed! While on holiday in Cornwall, the elderly Belgian detective who just cant seem to retire, Hercule Poirot, meets flapper Nick Buckley, who has recently survived three near-fatal mishaps, including just narrowly being missed by a falling boulder, having her brakes fail, and having a heavy painting fall on her bed, and when they are discussing these occurrences, Nick

A leisurely read because the story line itself moves at a leisurely pace. There are few customary murder attempts and a murder but the plot is not gripping. Unlike other Christie plots you get a good idea of who the real killer is and so it spoils the climax. There are cross references to other Poirot's exploits and hence is best read after Poirot's previous stories have been read. Overall an average read

Hercule Poirot meets a young girl, whose life is in danger.Multiple attempts have been made to kill her, with the latest one leaving a bullet hole in her hat.Poirot's protective instincts are aroused. But,someone does get murdered. An interesting enough mystery, but the identity of the killer, didn't really surprise me.

End House looks like a haunted house, after all an old man the kids called Satan lived there. But, now his vivacious young niece is the owner. Shes done some improving inside the money pit. Meanwhile someone is trying to kill her. Why? Enter Poirot. He will find the answers and stop her murder. But who will be sacrificed? A good mystery, but since I figured it out early Im not as impressed as I usually am at Agatha Christies twists. How cynical is that? Hahah!

Hercule Poirot and Arthur Hastings were taking a vacation on south of Great Britain enjoying the climate (I thought it rains nonstop everywhere in British Islands; please correct me if I am wrong). One day they met a young woman Nick Buckley who was just shot at and had a hat with a bullet hole to prove it, but who was also absolutely clueless about the attempt at her life. Poirot got interested and during the talk with her it turned out there were three earlier attempts which she did not take
