Outgoing, always positive, and beautiful in more ways than Cliff can believe, she attaches herself to him after he impulsively stands up to a bully on her behalf at school. Soon her smiles and uplifting attitude begin to reach him, and Cliff becomes part of Liz's fiercely tight family circle, which includes her brother Jim and sister-in-law Beth. CAUTION: SPOILER ALERTIll admit Ive never read any book like this. I was a bit surprised at my own reactions, as I like to think Im more liberal minded. There were just too many boundaries the author tried to push for these four characters in one book. It was a love story, then it wasnt then it was again. Ill admit that I kept reading, but it wasnt because I was in love with the characters, it was because I promised to have an open mind and give a fair review. I kept shaking my head as I readThis one took me back to my college days, though my escapades were not nearly as interesting. The characters were likable, and believable, and I turned the pages because I genuinely wanted to know how it would turn out. I liked how the story unfolded at an even, interesting pace, and how there was always a little surprise coming. At certain points, I found myself shaking my head at the characters (read: Cliff), but I think that's what made it an enjoyable read.
